GDFC News 9 May

  • League info

  • Social Update!

  • Player Shout Outs

From Next Monday we'll be running matches at Mile End so look out for that!

Hi all! Buckle up cos this is long but full of loads of important updates from your social secs:

1. Thank you all for filling out the socials survey! There are loads of really helpful insights and we are going through all the responses to ensure we create socials that best serve the club. If you have not had a chance to fill it out yet, please do. It’s super quick and easy will take less than a minute. You don’t have to answer all the questions either.

2. There are 5 more free tickets for the Women’s FA cup final on Sunday the 15th. These will be allocated to the people on the waitlist in the event. If you are no longer able to come please update your response on the event in team app so another goal doesn’t miss out. If you don’t manage to grab a free one but want to come or want to bring a +1 you can buy a ticket in the store (here on team app) and they will be a little cheaper than buying directly

3. Speaking of events - we have created a new social calendar on google which might be easier for some people (rather than using team app) you can subscribe to it here: and see all GDFC socials in your own calendar. We’d also love to add YOUR EVENTS to this (think gigs, workshops, plays, whatever you’re up to and might want an audience for) drop me or Hannah-Lily a message to get your events added

4. Come to the park kick about on Saturday, friends/ family/ pets welcome!

Sorry for the long message.

For the love of the game, Shiv

Bank holiday players of the week were Hannah-Lily, Emma, Lorraine (she's back!) and the MVP Lisa!

A truly gorgeous week at Adv Sunday 5s - the sun was out, the fans were here & the football was goalorious. Kate won POTM for All Stars for literally defining "dig deep". She was all over the pitch - creating stunning assists, making brave last minute tackles & scoring a heavenly hat-trick. One of her goals landed top right corner from a volley. We love to see it. Kate everyone.

Louise won POTM for Legends for "literally keeping them in the game". She was incredible - her reflexes were amazing, she read the game beautifully and she was a commanding presence from the back. We've missed you Louise! An absolute treat to have you back!
