FCGD vs Deptford Ravens - match report from Maeve!

A cloudy Saturday morning suddenly turned to blazing sunshine at kick off: the exact the moment we realised we had no subs and were in it for the long-haul. Ravens had a strong press from the start, but Farida made some great saves to keep us in the game. FCGD grew into the challenge and with some lovely triangles from Shiva and Gaia and some fancy footwork from Fleur we found ourselves two up by half time. Deptford kept going in the second half (they also had freshness with multiple subs) and Farida made some more great saves. But we had the benefit(?) of the pitch sloping downhill and everyone had a few shots on target. I scored the third from a perfect placed kick in from Gaia. Gaia then scored a lovely tap in from a corner which was disallowed (for reasons I can’t remember) but then scored again shortly after to make it 4-0. A perfect start to the weekend. Farida was awarded the double POTM (captain’s and Deptford’s).

SUNDAY 5s (23 June)

What a delight to be back in the cages with back to back matches. All stars potw was Dan for a massive debut! Legend's porn (editor note: no idea if 'porn' was intentional or an autocorrect so I'm leaving it in) was Farida for always scoring the hardest goals and the cutest assist / goal combination with Binal.

Well done to ethos player of the week Gus for being great energy at training! Players of the week were Rosie, Giulia, Scottie and Emma (her first session in v adv!). Well done all, and a massive thank you to our coaches!
