AMATEUR FA AWARD

On Wednesday evening Goal Diggers was recognised by the Amateur FA for our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. The award cited our club as not only a safe space for (all) women, non-binary people and the LGBTQ+ community, but those looking to play football in a welcoming environment. The award was accepted on the club’s behalf by Liz Ward & Paula Griffin.

FROM NIAMH: UPCOMING DRAG KING NIGHT

COCKROACH - an eccentric drag king comedy, where you'll find out that life isn't the only thing that's hard.

Bang average blokes. Barry, Brian & Bean. They're unlikeable, untalented & generally underwhelming, which means they're destined for greatness.

An eccentric drag king comedy brought to you by the clowns of The Barry, Brian & Bean Company. Set in the 1980s, and with a soundtrack full of hits, COCKROACH explores how pity, loneliness and downright delusion thrives under the weight of the rat race. Follow Barry, Brian and Bean on their journey towards *something* better, *something* more, *something* to make it all worthwhile. Be prepared for sexual tension, fiery 80's karaoke & the occasional emu. Canal Cafe Theatre, W2 6NG July 20th/21st/22nd £14/£11 Tickets @ the Canal Cafe Theatre website or follow the link in our instagram bio (@barrybrianbean)

AMATEUR FA COACHING EVENT

The Amateur FA and Super Liga have teamed up to hold a Stepping Over the Sidelines workshop aimed at getting more women and non-binary people into coaching.

The FA ‘Stepping Over The Sidelines’ workshops are for those of all ages and backgrounds who would like to get into volunteering and coaching within football. This programme is designed to allow those with transferrable skills and expertise from other backgrounds to inspire change within the game. Your valuable insight from experiences outside of football may just be the advice a team needs to progress their development and feel inspired to influence change within the game. You don’t have to be an expert to help teams gain confidence, learn new skills, and absorb some of your knowledge to further their growth through coaching. There is no initial commitment, and the free session will act as an introduction to the programme, and how you can potentially play a key part in it. All we ask is to register your interest using the form below ahead of the workshop. Event Details When: Sunday 2nd July 2023 Time: 2pm - 4pm Where: Archbishop's Park, Carlisle Lane, London SE1 7LE Book your place here: https://forms.office.com/e/APH8axKubP The workshop will be delivered by FA Community Champion and Equal Game Ambassador, Steph Fairbairn.

Please can you pass this onto anyone you think would be interested in attending.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch (Samantha Brown Samantha.Brown@amateur-fa.com)
