GDFC News 26 October

Hi all, with the rising number of covid cases in London, it’s really important you do not come to training / matches if you have any symptoms or have had close contact with a confirmed positive test.

To make our contact tracing admin lives easier, we wanted to remind you of the process for dropping out of training & matches:

  1. Change your RSVP on TeamApp

  2. Comment on the event post

  3. Get in touch with the person who is next on the waitlist so that they can confirm they are in

If everyone can make an extra effort to make sure their RSVPs are up to date if they’re on the waiting list that would be fab. Thanks goals!

After this week’s training, we’ll put a vote out on the App to understand how our members want training to be organised.

We will be asking you whether you prefer the choice of 1hr / 2 hr sessions or if you want only 2 hr sessions each week. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send anything over to membership@goaldiggersfootballclub.

Our newer coaches, Chloe, Dora, Liv & Annie have got some fresh new kit. It's very much deserved for all the hard work they do for GDFC. THANK YOU!

For anyone that ordered a gold GDFC top or a keeper top, the current ETA is 2 weeks from today. General merch ordered in the Store is available to pick up every Wednesday.

This is the Thursday sessions calendar for the rest of 2020.

Get these dates in your diary and come on down to our lovely pitch at Calthorpe Community Garden in Kings Gross for some exciting league specific drills and thrills.

Please also spread the word about our fabulous sessions for over 40s and non members. The sign up for both these sessions is via this link:

Have a read of Coach Chloe Morgan’s great interview in The Athletic.

The piece includes this lovely quote from her:

“They’re my squad, a group of mixed abilities, and I love them to pieces… my own goalkeepers’ union. I come away from those sessions so buzzing at what they’ve done that I almost feel selfish.”
