COVID-19 & MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
Despite lockdown easing over the past few weeks, there isn’t any transparency yet of when grassroots football can return. We are planning for various scenarios in the background and will be updating you as soon as possible. There are many factors which impact our planning including coach payments, league restarts and MOZF fundraising.
We’re very aware that members did not receive ~3 months of football due to the lockdown and although we aren’t able to retrospectively refund any members, we are taking this into account with our plans and will be looking to provide reduced membership costs for when football returns. In keeping with the GDFC ethos, we hope to also introduce a Covid Solidarity Fund, so players who have not been financially hit by the pandemic can support those that have to return to football.
This year, due to Covid 19, our membership blocks will not follow their usual structure. In other words, your membership will not expire in July 2020. When we get a clearer idea of the future for grassroots football, we will give you a clear timescale re: membership expiry date etc. We will give you at least a month’s notice before you need to renew your membership.
We will also be publishing a Covid Survey for our members in the near future which we would be really grateful if you could complete. The survey will aim to find out your hopes and expectations from the club when we can at last return to the pitch to ensure we offer you the most suitable arrangements. For example, we will try to gauge how comfortable people will feel travelling to leagues further away (and therefore possibly relying on public transport) or attending max. capacity training.

GDFC ELECTIONS
We have launched the 2020 GDFC Committee elections! If you’re interested in joining the GDFC Committee, then head over to the documents sections of the Team App where you can read all the role descriptions in detail. Please email Club Sec Esther by Friday 26th June with your preferred position on info@goaldiggersfootballclub.com or drop her a message on the app.
Joining the GDFC Committee helps you shape the future of the club you love, gives you fantastic experience for your CV, and has the additional perks of getting you access to the lol-a-day GDFC Committee Whatsapp group, a personalised GDFC jumper AND Committee Christmas drinks. Most roles require approx 2-4 hours/week, but this varies throughout the season. For more info or any questions, get in touch with Esther.
