LEAGUE INFO

Have a question about leagues? Get in touch with the relevant league rep on TeamApp or with our head of football Paula!

TRAINING

If you can help with carrying equipment to training please drop a message in the Ball Collecting chat on TeamApp when you sign up. The address is 2 Moye Close, E2 8QN... just a stones throw from the pitches (and the pub afterwards).

TRAINING FEEDBACK

⚽️ Reminder from Coach Josh: we've got a feedback form where you can let us know your thoughts on training. Feel free to send this either straight after a session, or when it suits you during the week. ⚽️

👉 You can also feedback specifically on our all-abilities tournaments: We started doing all ability training tournaments a year ago. The idea was to provide opportunities for everyone in the club to meet each other and to reinforce our non-ability ethos. We wanted to check in about how you all found the training tournament two weeks ago. Please feedback here if you have any thoughts or comments, including if you enjoyed!

BIKES AT TRAINING

The people working at Haggerston Park want us to know that there's no cctv on the street bike racks so best to find another spot to lock up.

CASTING FOR ART OF FOOTBALL CAMPAIGN

Hey team, see below a campaign that Art of Football are doing. They have told me that it might be paid. If you're interested please get in touch with Kelvyn Quagraine at k.quagraine@art-of-football.com

Inspired by the GAP self expression campaign, we are launching a World Cup Inside Out campaign editorial shoot working with 1 fan from every participating nation from the tournament. It will be an editorial shoot where each person will wear their WC jersey inside out. We will then ask for them to create their own national flag, with a personal message from them about what football can do to better serve their community.

This campaign piece aims to capture the art of football. Being a way for fans to demonstrate their love for the values of togetherness and unity the WC brings to fans, but peacefully making a stand against the competition’s decision-makers. The shoot will be accompanied by a wrap film which will celebrate the fans in the piece, whilst also becoming a CTA for fans across the globe to follow suit and wear their shirts inside out.

We are currently in the casting process of this campaign and were keen to see if you had anyone from your community keen to be considered? They'd need to be from one of the WC nations and own their own jersey!

BALL TOGETHER NOW WITH MANCHESTER LACES

Summer's over but guess what? 2023 will have a summer too! Manchester Laces are busy trying to organise a football festival for women and non binary people next summer on 7th - 9th July. At this stage they're just trying to get opinions on what people would like to see so they've created a short form. If you've got 5 or 10 minutes to fill it in it'd be a great help to them:

PLAYER SHOUT-OUTS

TRAINING

This week's players of the week were Florrie, Fozz and Hannah May (on a streak!). Ransford 'couldn't pick anyone because we were all great' lol. Well done goals for a great Wednesday x

TUESDAY CLUBS UNITED

From Captain Georgia: I couldn’t pick a player of the match! Everyone worked so hard as a team and as individuals. It was non stop grafting; from support on the sidelines to all round excellent play on the pitch. A big shout out to Rachel though, who’s confidence in goal is growing every match. She made some good saves and listened to the half time tips and took them back onto the pitch! Proud of you Goals, let’s go again next week!

From Sam: As League Manager, my nominee for player of the match would be Georgia for her game plan, half time talk and the many shots she defended while putting her body on the line!

TUEDAY 7S

It's Hannah Dinz' 150th event attended since January 2020 (data from team app events only) and she goes and gets potw at 7s for her excellent one on one defending!

SATURDAY 11S

Coach Amy and Captain Gaia's player of the match was Katie!

SUNDAY 7S

Intermediate Goals might not have won their games this afternoon in the Ladies Super Liga but it certainly felt like a moral victory after two battling performances against PCWAFC and free scoring league leaders Brazuka. In the opening game against PCW the team created plenty of opportunities but were unable to turn them into goals. However the defence proved rock solid with the game finishing scoreless. In the second game the defence once again was the foundation for an impressive display against a Brazuka side top of the table with 88 goals scored & just 5 conceded. Goals shocked their opponents when a penalty was awarded against Brazuka’s keeper, Paula staying calm to smack the spot kick into the back of the net. Although Brazuka levelled it seemed as if Goals might hold out for a well earned draw. Sadly it was not to be as a long range shot took a wicked deflection deceiving Lorraine in goal to give Brazuka the three points. Player of the Day from captain Martha, playing against the advice of their tattooist, went to Emma H who put in two amazing shifts and was unlucky not to add a goal or two to the tally.
