GDFC Mag is back! In the second issue of our quarterly magazine, we explore issues around football and the theme of protest. You can read it online here or buy a hard copy until 31st August.
SESSION FEEDBACK
Our first week of sessions has gone pretty smoothly and it’s been SO GOOD to have footie back. We hope you all enjoyed getting back on the ball.
If you have any feedback about the sessions we have organised please post them in the anonymous suggestions box here or have a chat with any of the committee / coaches at a session.
DROPOUTS
A lot of work goes into planning each session, sorting the training groups and tracking attendance for contact tracing purposes. We had 8 dropouts on the day this week and we are keeping track of these.
Please ensure your RSVP to an event is correct at least the evening (24 hours for training) before the session.
FIXTURES + TRAINING
As you will have seen, leagues are resuming and new leagues are beginning.
From now on, leagues will be described with the level of the opposition you will be playing against, not the ability of GDFC players who should sign up.
We have split this into:
Very Experienced - CWSFL 11s Div 1, Islington 7s Div 1
Experienced - CWSFL 11s Div 2, Islington 7s Div 2, Super 5s, La Liga 5/7s
Intermediate - La Liga 5/7s, Saturday 11s derbies
Beginner - Flexi Super5s
E.g: CWSFL 11s very experienced - refers to the ability of the teams we would play against in that league, who we would describe as ‘very experienced’. Therefore, you know that if you join, it is a tough league and so you can make a more informed decision about the level of football you want to compete in.

Update on CWSFL - Clapham Common 11s League
This year, we have entered 2 teams into the CWSFL:
Goal Diggers (very experienced) - bi-monthly 11aside matches + cup + training sessions
Goal DIggers Academy (experienced) - monthly 11aside matches + cup + training sessions

In order to join these leagues you must purchase league entry from the store on Team App, this will be available from Monday (17/08), we are providing a subsidised league entry for unwaged/students/low income members.
Please note. The cost of this league has increased due to increased coaching costs, additional 11aside trainings that will be provided and in line with other 11aside league costs. All our leagues are subsidised for our members and we will be posting more detail about league costs soon. If you have any questions please email membership@goaldiggersfootballclub.com.

Training - Please only sign up to 1 training. If you are doing Wednesday regular training you should not sign up for Monday Socially distanced training.
MERCH LOVE
The bulk order of merch should be on it’s way. I’ll send out information on how to collect as soon as the delivery date is on it’s way.

In the meantime enjoy your ‘bibs for life’. Please write your name & pronouns on them and bring these along to every session.
