KIT UPDATE

A couple of kit updates from our kit sec Laura:

WHERE ARE THE SCARVES?

I know that some of you have been most vocal on the subject of the whereabouts of the scarves. Where's the scarves? When are you going to get the scarves? Why don't you have the scarves now? And so on. So now. An update.

I don't have them. I am really sorry on the delay on this, and I do hope they arrive before it's too warm to wear them...however unfortunately there appears to be some issues with delivery and UPS, I am working with them and the scarf company to try and get these to you ASAP and can only apologise for the delay. As soon as I receive them I will let you all know. Genuine thanks for the understanding with this, as I am sure you are aware it is a nightmare with deliveries at the moment but doing all I can.

WHERE IS OUR NEW KIT?

Good news goals. The kit is ready! In Manchester... logistics are being sorted. The kit is likely going to be driven down in three weeks and we will be filming a kit launch video for New Balance (as part of our partnership contract with them). To reduce the impact that filming has on our members, we are going to film 12-14 goals on a Saturday. This will likely be the 4th of Feb. We have developed a contract that the crew needs to adhere to and are going to make sure we have lots of committee there to make sure it runs smoothly. Those who volunteer will get to play 1hr of 5aside, 1 hour of bowling and have a pizza lunch as well as getting their full kits first. They will need to be available from 8am-2pm in central London. If you would like to volunteer, send Laura HH a message on TeamApp.

GDFC ON TOUR

Yes, you read that right. We're going on a mini UK tour and WE CAN'T WAIT.

Save the date for Friday 7th July - Sunday 9th July. Manchester. To make this tour into a glorious reality, we need 2 tour secs. We've posted the job description in TeamApp, please get in touch! This is not a full-time committee role, it's just 6 months to organise a fun, accessible tour for all the goals that want to join. It's such a nice way to get to know people in the club & essentially plan your ideal holiday and make all your mates go on it.

COMMUNITY CORNER

This section is reserved for anyone in the club who has stuff they want to share (job posting, events, other cool opportunities -- whatever!) If you ever want to add anything to this section just email press@goaldiggersfootballclub.com and put 'NEWSLETTER' in the subject line.

PLAYER SHOUT-OUTS

SUNDAY 5S

It was a rainy hour in Southwark and in spite of two losses, all goals really showed up, kept digging, and most certainly grew in to the matches. POTM for the first match was Željka on her league debut for a strong effort at the back. And the second POTM went to Rachel for keeping her cool, saving balls, and not being put off by some strong strikes during the second game.

GOALPOST LEAGUE

Monday Goalpost League 5 a side

Monday’s goals played an incredible game against Hackney Cubs. They kept digging against their fierce competitors and scored some cracking goals to secure a 6-6 draw.

Sam’s POTM was Ananya for their super defence. They made some fantastic tackles and played a crucial part in keeping GDFC in the game.

Scarlet got POTM from WAGs Maz and Nicola for her relentless attack, fancy footwork and scoring her first two goals.

Well done to everyone who played! There were great vibes in the team but also between GDFC and Hackney Cubs.

TUESDAY 7S

So let me just explain what happened. They scored in the first two mins, held onto their lead for 48 mins, then we scored (beautiful) to equalise and one minute later they scored one more to win 2-1 with the last kick of the game.

Flo's player of the match was Emma for succeeding in her goal of carrying the ball and having a great game on the wing.
