GDFC MAG SUBMISSIONS

The theme for this issue is PITCH, which we encourage you to interpret as widely or as closely as you please. The big news for Goal Diggers this year has been getting Haggerston Pitch, our new training ground. We want to use this issue to reflect on our campaign for space in the football community and other issues stemming from this - whether it's your individual search for somewhere to play during lockdown, or wider issues of space and representation. Submissions do not have to be football-related, and, as always, we're looking for a mix of serious and light-hearted content. We would love to hear your pitch!

The deadline for submissions will be midnight on Saturday 28th November.

As for word counts, we'd suggest:

Short article = 450=550 words Medium = 950-1050 words Long = 1550-1750 words

As well you know, GDFC Mag is written for and by the community. Everyone is welcome to contribute, regardless of experience. So if you know anyone who might like to write something, please pass this on! Previous issues are available online here.

We are looking for material for the following sections:

  • NEWS AND FEATURES - A longer-length piece (max 1750 words) related to the theme.

  • CREATIVE - Creative writing, poetry, art, drawing, photography, cartoons.

  • COLUMNS - Short form opinion pieces.

  • FOOD - Cookery tips and recipe ideas.

  • LIFESTYLE - Fashion, health, football training tips.

  • GDFC CRUSH - Do you have a GDFC crush? Tell them anonymously here. Please, keep it clean.

  • AGONY AUNT - Do you have a problem for our agony aunts to solve? Are you a dab hand at offering advice? Let us know.

  • ENTERTAINMENT - Reviews or recommendations (books, film, music, podcasts, online theatre, TV, activities, things to do - you name it).

  • QUIZZES/PUZZLES/GAMES

Please email your submissions to mag@goaldiggersfootballclub.com.

INCLUSION & DIVERSITY
