Monday nights at Mile End will be back soon. We’re still waiting on those pitch repairs.

KEEPER TRAINING: Next Wednesday 24th August there will be a GK session with Coach Chloe Morgan. Renew your membership so you don't miss out!

⚽️ Reminder from Coach Josh: we've got a feedback form where you can let us know your thoughts on training:

Feel free to send this either straight after a session, or when it suits you during the week

We’ve planned a kickaround for Monday 29th August in Clapham, at 3-4pm and there's still space to sign up.

A reminder to all diggers to make sure they renew their membership for the second half of 2022. You've now got 2 weeks left. Membership renewal ends at the end of August. Unless you've specifically been in touch with Gaia, you won't be able to buy membership until next year after this time and, crucially, we'll miss you.

AT GDFC we want to make sure there’s as little as possible preventing you from playing football. For any members that need any financial help towards buying new boots / kit / transport costs etc, we have a kitty to help out. Just get in touch with Gaia at!

For those of you that handed in your kit for branding this should be returned this Wednesday (17 August) at training. For those that didn't hand it in, or who require kit - not to worry as our new-new kit from New Balance will be available from October/November. We will have short AND shirt sizing samples at training this week. So come by and try them on so we can get these ordered ASAP.

There was so merch love for these vests (dubbed "simply the vest") on Wednesday, that we thought it would be cruel not to share the link with you lovely goals.

The vests are only a tenner (!) and if you've already got many a vest - then don't fear, we have many more items on offer. From bucket hats to bags to beanies. Alex, Georgia and Kate model below. Fleur Cousens with the puns above.

We have now got our last new members into the club! Please welcome them all and help explain how GDFC works. It's thanks to a Greene King Pubs grant that we have been able to increase the number of members. If you're a new member who joined in the last 2 months, and are happy to send a very quick sentence about what joining GDFC has been like. that would be very helpful! It will go on social media / on our grant report. Please send a quick sentence to or send to Gaia on TeamApp.

This section is reserved for anyone in the club who has stuff they want to share (job posting, events, other cool opportunities -- whatever!) If you ever want to add anything to this section just email and put 'NEWSLETTER' in the subject line.

A series of workshops that are QTPoC centred, meaning the workshop materials and concepts are geared towards those who have this lived experience. The sessions also welcome those from other marginalised communities.

Omikemi is offering a series of four two-hour workshops engaging writing, somatics and mindfulness-based care practices to support creatives in the shift from surviving, to stabilising, to thriving. Sessions will explore concepts such as care, rest, creative rhythms and how these impact the ability to generate sustainable creative practices.

Times: 11:00 - 13:00, Tuesday 6th - Friday 9th September Where: The first three sessions online, with the final session at ODAC Sign up: Please only sign up if you can attend all four sessions

SUNDAY 5s and 7s

Match report from Gaia: A combined massive team of Legends and All Stars played 4 back to back games at Archibishops Park. Everyone was outstanding and the vibes were lush. Captain Kim's Player of the week was Charlie! And from Hannah May: We won two and lost two which is is pretty good considering it was 300C.

Dig deep little dog

Intermediate 7s round up from co-captain Lorraine: Diggers really dug deep winning 4-0 against PCW and lost 7-0. To BRAZUKA! Players of the matches where outstanding keeper Kenza ! And goal machine annabel ! Scoring from their own half ! Proud of my team Emma C co captaining with myself ! There’s nothing we diggers like more than playing 90 mins of 5 a side football in 37 degree heat ……in a cage !

Report by Fleur Cousens: Monday Kickaround vibes were truly gorgeous - special shout out to Hannah-Lily for bringing their speaker along.

Players of the week were Fozz & Beth - both players were amazing members of their team, digging deep & causing lots of trouble for their opponents.

Thanks to everyone who came & lots of love to Oana who sadly picked up an injury. We hope you heal asap!

Training was another delight! These summer evenings are a real treat

Players of the week were Hmane (she's back!), Hannah-May (first in 4.5 years!), Kidesh, Scarlet and Giulia. Well done all!

And of course, massive thanks to our coaching team, including Rosanna who may be joining soon
