Well done to all our goals at training this week!

In a thrilling and fast-paced football game marked by relentless attacking, our team secured an impressive 3-2 victory. Credit is due to our excellent captain, Alex, for leading the team admirably. A special shout-out also goes to our rock-solid defense. However, the Player of the Match award was rightfully claimed by Emily, who exhibited constant shooting and a ubiquitous presence on the pitch, contributing significantly to our triumph.

Monday 5s was a tough (and v sweaty) game but we battled through, holding it at 1-1 for most of the match thanks to a killer first touch shot from Florrie. Suzanne was POTM for keeping us in the match - showing unstoppable determination on the pitch and blocking upwards of 10 shots with her body. Always a pleasure team.

POTW for the advanced 5’s this week as chosen by Captain Hope was Charlie, not only was she all over the pitch she scored a debut 5’s goal!

With one loss and a win, (with no subs to speak off for both matches!) the win was a hard fought 3-2 against South London Laces - who seemed more intent on taking out our players than the ball. The first goal came from excellent team play and finished beautifully by Niamh to put us ahead, only for SEL to score 2 in quick succession. Charlie worked her magic to equalise for GDFC with some excellent footwork and a tidy finish, giving us hope that we could win, before LHH scored a last minute screamer to take home the 3 points! Huge shout out to Marina for some incredible saves to keep us in it, and to Captain Hope for her composure at the back and making some vital interceptions and tackles!

We have had low player interest in this league lately so please next week come join us, it’s a fun league on a Sunday afternoon so any newcomers or oldies who haven’t played in a while please sign up, look at what a friendly bunch we are, this could be YOU!

Well done to Mathilde who was Captain Millie's potm this week for running tirelessly all over the pitch and making some beautiful passes.

One draw and one win for the group at Haggerston 8s on sunday this week. Amazing to see how we got more and more comfortable throughout the games which resulted in our first ever win this season.

Captain Sam’s POTM was Ananya, for their constant activity and tenacity on the ball as well as for some great interceptions to turn defence to attack.

League Manager Adday’s POTM was Maz, who played in the midfield as well as in goal. Maz covered a lot of ground on the pitch and was tracking back for defence as well as playing a pivotal role in carrying and advancing the ball on attack.

Great vibes and team play all around! Was a lovely way to end the weekend.
