This session is aimed at women and non-binary people who are over the average age of Goal Diggers FC’s membership (around 20-35). This will be a beginners’ training session which covers all the basics.

Who are Goal Diggers FC? Goal Diggers FC is a non-profit club set up in London to make football more available and accessible to all women and non-binary people regardless of previous experience or ability. What should I wear? This is an indoor 4G pitch, so we would suggest wearing comfortable sports clothes. The pitch is suitable for moulded or AstroTurf football boots (if you have them), as well as trainers. You don’t need to wear football-specific clothes. Bring a bottle of water.
How much does this session cost? Thanks to Sport Islington, this session is FREE.

As a complete novice to football I had no idea what to expect. I was surprised at how much fun we had and how positive and encouraging the coaches were! I will come back for the next event.
My anxiety about going to the session instantly disappeared when the coaches got us started. The coaches were amazing: so supportive and they made everything easy to understand. I genuinely felt that I learnt some skills. I felt challenged but definitely not overwhelmed, so much fun. It was great meeting a group of women by whom I felt supported. The coaches were absolutely fantastic.
It was a very friendly environment, a great workout and lots of fun.
