REGULAR MEMBERSHIP

Our membership blocks run for 6 months - January through June and July through December. Regular membership gives you access to weekly training sessions at Haggerston Park, the possibility to sign up for leagues, socials, a kit shirt, tour and more. We aim to make football as accessible as possible and have a tiered payment structure with subsidised places available.

We have a membership cap of 240 members. This is to ensure members get access to training and league spots and so that we can support the growth of other grassroots clubs with a similar ethos to GDFC. As GDFC is oversubscribed membership spaces are only available to those who consider GDFC to be their main football club. GDFC should be the club you spend the majority of your footballing time playing with or for. This is in order to ensure membership spaces are fairly allocated to those who do not have alternative opportunities to play football.

Our membership for is now full. We are currently operating a waitlist for people to sign up to. This can be found here: https://forms.gle/aMuAxNrJVs94CnJ77Current wait-list times are around 2 months for priority spaces (see below) and 6 months for non-priority spots. If you have any questions after filling in the form, please contact us at  membership@goaldiggersfootballclub.com

Within the waitlist we have priority spaces available for people of colour, non-binary people, trans women, players over the age of 50 and spots for local players from the Haggerston area who are unable to afford football otherwise. If you are any of these people and interested in joining the club, please indicate this on the waitlist form and you will be prioritised to the top of the waitlist.

CLAPTON CFC

ABOUT

It’s about fitness, wellbeing, fun and most importantly the beautiful game. We do a warm up and some fitness first, then some technical training. Some of participants are still learning to kick cleanly some working on turns and tricks and more. We always play a game too. The ages range from 22 to 56. Some got to play a bit in primary school some never even got that. There is a lost generation of women born before 1981 as we were born under the FA ban. It was technically lifted in the 70s but no women actually got access to pitches before 1981 the first official women's World cup wasn't until 1991. Still today women don't get equal access to football. Most participants have stories of always wanting to play of not knowing where or how to play and it is really nice to have a space now where players can develop. All abilities are welcome.

N.B. Bring trainers or astros, as it’s an indoor sports hall.

FRANCHESTER UNITED

ABOUT

Franchester United were set up in the early 2000's by a small group of friends from university.  On the basis that the Captain was called Fran, and the only team that anyone had ever heard of was Manchester United, the name seemed like an obvious choice.

Since then, the team have gone from strength to strength. We have been on tour at home and abroad, had players from all different continents and played in various competitions - winning the odd tin trophy along the way.

LUSH LYFE FC

ABOUT

Lush Lyfe Football Club is a football club open to all women, gender queer and non-binary people. Lush Lyfe Football Club exists to provide opportunities for people to play football and learn new football skills in a relaxed and fun environment. Lush Lyfe Football Club also exists to support members to develop leadership skills and abilities.

We are a South London footie squad for all women, genderqueer & non-binary ppl who want to play the beautiful game and live their best lyfe. The team started in the summer of 2017 by two sisters. They put a call out to their friends of all skill levels and abilities; around 25 people came for a kick about in the park. Since it’s humble beginnings, the team has grown in ambition and size (75+ members in the on-line community). We play in the Super5 League (promoted in our first season!) and a 7-a-side league, play monthly friendlies, organise socials and participate in tournaments whenever we can all whilst looking lush in our kit and wearing our badge with pride.

Every Tuesday, we meet for practise where we lead drills and play matches; the atmosphere is supportive and encouraging. We coach ourselves meaning any player can come forward and lead, building the confidence and leadership of all.
